Credit Where Credit is Due: Anne Brigman

Essentially a real life pixie, Anne had this photo thing dialed. Trekking into the uncharted Sierras with a few friends she was able to capture the spirit of nature in her photographs. By placing her human subjects amongst the Junipers and rock formations they became more of an extension of nature then simply existing among it. She lived a life of adventure and exploration at a time when women were defined by their caliber in the kitchen and the capacity for child rearing. I have only recently discovered her work, but seeingthe photos for the first time leaves me with a strange sense of familiarity. Its as though she captured an essence that will always be in nature. To see it one must simply wander off into the forest with open eyes and an open heart. For a more comprehensive biography of Anne Brigman....

Farewll Venice in 35MM

Church
One of my frequented places of worship.

Palms of Venice
The city meets the sea. Arguably one of the most frequented graffiti zones in Los Angeles. Writers put hours of effort into massive pieces only to have them painted over within days, sometimes hours by the next guy.

Boardwalk Bruiser
Venice is a dogtown, four legged friends are everywhere in every shape and size, actually its pretty much just Chihuahuas and Pitbulls. This guy stands out of the crowd.

Shadow Self

Where the sun meets the sand and the sea. Where the city folk go to feel free.
